The Amazing Ocean
The Steller's Sea Cow was a once-great inhabitant of the Bering Sea. Steller's sea cow was the greatest of the Sirenians who was slaughtered and driven to extinction by mankind. Steller's sea cow was bigger than an elephant, and as huge as a whale. It could be seen gently feeding on the kelp gardens of the Bering Sea off the Illusion Islands. You can imagine Steller's Sea Cow as huge as the hull of an overturned ship and moaning in the rolling surf. He was bigger than an elephant as he grazed on the kelp meadows of the sea floor.
